Tom Burmeister - Background

Tom Burmeister has been messing around in boats for many years, something he inherited from his grandfather who was a boat builder out of Port Washington, Wisconsin.  Drawing on his extensive background in engineering, electrical systems, industrial control design, troubleshooting, and woodworking, Tom enjoys bringing new life to old boats.  He takes on projects ranging from troubleshooting, repairs and system upgrades, to custom woodworking and complete refits.  Tom works out of Wallingford, Connecticut.  

Tom’s current boat is a Charlie Morgan built 38’ Heritage One Ton, an old IOR Racer that Tom brought back to life as a fast cruiser that can be single-handed.  Tom and his wife Bonnie sail WindBorn throughout the Virgin Islands out of Coral Harbor on St John.
